Gianfranco Fini meets 2008 Eurogames Medallists

2008 Eurogames of Barcelona medalists delegation, was received by Gianfranco Fini, President of the Italian House of Representatives, and leader of the most right wing party in the current center-right Italian government.
The reception was asked for by Anna Paola Concia, congresswoman for the Democratic Party and gold medallist herself in the tennis tournament of the EuroGames. Pepe Garcia Vasquez, the male co-president of EGLSF was also present at the reception.
Most of the athletes received were members of Gay Sport Italia (GSI), a newly created umbrella organization which includes about 15 teams and sportive Italian associations. Total (unofficial) number of the medals won by Italian athletes at the last Eurogames is 59, of which 24 golds (10 in swimming, 9 in track and field, 2 in volleyball, 2 in tennis, 1 in synchronized swimming), with other medals won in beach volleyball, football and golf.

15th place on 2008 Bulgarian Marathon Running Championships

At 26th edition of SOFIA MARATHON, held on 12th of October 2008 ,
I finished on 15th place on 2008 Bulgarian Marathon Running Championships.
In fact this was my 15th time in my life when I finish the marathon race distance of 42 kilometers, 195meters.

2008 Bulgaria Championships for me are over. Summary here below:

4th Place- National Walking Championships 20 km;

4th Place - 2008 Bulgaria Duathlon Championships;

9th Place - 3,000m Steeplechase ;

10th Place - Aquathlon Championship;

11th Place- National Championships 10 000m;

13th Place - National Half Marathon;

15th Place- National Championships Sofia26th Marathon;

15th Place- National Cross Country Championships(long distance - 12 êm);

17th Place- National Cross Country Championships(short distance - 4 êm);

18th Place- First National Mountain Running Championships ;

17th on OD Triathlon in Athens

On the way to my first IRON MAN distance triathlon(3.8/180/ 42.2), I enjoyed participating(finishing with 17th result in 2:42:07) an OD Triathlon race in Athens(Greece) last week-end(Oct the 21st, 2008).

It is a pitty no more OD Triathlons are being held in Bulgaria last 3 Years. Hopefully in 2009 Varna will host an OD one. If not will see again my friends in Greece participating in Schiathlon 2009 :-)
